Often weeping tile systems (also called permitter tile and drain tile) are improperly installed during the construction of a home. Many homes never had a weeping tile installed at all. With no (or a malfunctioned) weeping tile system, water can sit at the bottom of the foundation wall where it rests on the footing. This allows water to easily penetrate foundation walls, footing / wall seams and cause hydrostatic pressure allowing water to enter the home through the basement floor. A weeping tile system will is vital to keeping your home dry in Nova Scotia.
